The series concerns aspects of digital and analogue montage. I analyse the question of autonomy and the status of representation of a painting. On the canvases there are paintings within paintings that could have existed independently but they are arranged next to one another as “windows” in a visible space of graphic application and gradients in the background. In the windows or on layers they levitate next to one another, cover others and create new fields of perception and relation. The oil painting as a whole is a presentation of the phase of workshop montage, the possibility which I decided to reveal by creating enigmatic interpretative contexts. The iconography comes from my archive, or an “atlas”, if one refers to Aby Warburg. Material collected during the many years of practice and work upon the cycles.
